  Here is the order for IITs
  
  IIT Kanpur
  
  IIT Bombay
  
  IIT Madras
  
  IIT Kharagpur
  
  IIT – Roorkee
  
  Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi
  
  IIT Guwahati
  
  Again, this order keeps on changing depending upon the company that does the survey and the parameters that they consider for the survey.

IIT Ahmedabad is certainly among first 50 of India , though it has been started recently. And yes, better than some of the Institutes named above. I feel this list needs to be revised . It seems to have been prepared much earlier.
