LearnHub How-To: TESTS
Welcome to a LearnHub How-To lesson! This lesson will show you how to create a test using LearnHub's new advanced test mechanism. Tests have many amazing features you can use to create a challenging assessment tool, or just a fun activity to pass the time!
What do tests look like? You can find tests in most of our popular communities on LearnHub. Here are a few sample tests you can check out:
I
want to make a test! Where do I start?
Before you
start: Log-in or
create an account and
verify your email address. This will ensure you can upload content
to LearnHub.
Enter your workspace
and click on tests.
You will see a list of all the tests you have created and taken in
the past. To the right you will be able to click on create a test to start
writing a new test.
Step 1- Set up
![]() |
This is the first step of
writing a test. You'll notice I already filled mine out! The first
thing you do is name your test. It's important to
choose a name that describes the test and will make people want to
take it- "new test" is not a good name. Next, you can
describe the test and it's purpose, to make people
know what it's all about.
Now comes the fun part. You can create sections in
your test. These can correspond to difficulty level (easy section,
medium section, hard section), type of questions, or anything you
can think of. The sections are optional, so you
don't have to fill them out.
Afterwards, you can decide on a time-limit, and
set up negative marking, or marking that will be taken off for
wrong answers.
When you're done this, click on the NEXT button on the right.
Step 2- Creating Questions
![]() |
Once you set up your test,
it's time to fill it up with questions! You can add as many
questions as you want, but good tests typically have 8 - 25
questions.
Start a question by writing the question text, or
the question itself. "Why does a zebra wear stripes?" is a question
text.
Don't forget to select which section your question
will appear in!
You can provide a photo to appear next to question
too.
Then, assign the question a weight- how many
points do I get for answering this question right? Easy question
should get 1 point, but harder ones deserve 2 or more.
You can choose to provide an explanation detailing
the correct answer.

Now it's time to fill in some
answer choice! You must provide at least 2
answers, and only one can be correct.
To remove an answer choice, click on the red X
sign next to that possible answer. To add a new
answer click on "add choice".
You can add a picture to each choice if you
want!
When you are done with a question, click NEXT to start a new question. Click REVIEW and PUBLISH once you
are done all of your questions.
Step 3- Finishing up
![]() |
Once you finish writing
questions and click on Review and Publish, you're nearly done.
First, you can Review your test and make sure it
looks just the way you want it to!
Once you're sure you're ready to go, set the
publish drop-down menu to yes, publicly, so that
everyone can take your amazing test.
Finally, click FINISH to complete
your test.
What can I do next?
You can edit your test to make corrections or changes. This can be done quite easily- just go to your published tests in the workplace and click on edit.
That's How You Make a Test!
