Swimmers and snorkelers can spend their time shoulder-to-shoulder
with the bluegills, the tilapia, and the manatees that swim up the
St. Johns River every winter. The springs, which are fed with a
flow of millions of gallons of water a day, also offer some of the
best inner tubing in the area. the ocean fronts 23 miles of beaches
in the greater Daytona Beach area
Winters are mild and summers are warm in Daytona Beach thanks to
its location on the Atlantic Ocean and the Halifax River, an
estuary which flows between the beachside and the mainland. The

Important Information:
Housing:
Campus housing is primarily for undergraduates, with limited
availability for graduate students. We suggest that grad students
seek off-campus housing. Off-campus housing is near the same cost
as living on campus. You may expect to pay from $500 to $700 per
month for an apartment. Normally it is not difficult to secure
housing in the area. There are many apartments within a short
distance of the university.
Airport:
The Daytona Beach International Airport serves the area with the
airlines Continental, Delta Connection, and Vintage Air.
Buses and transportation:
Votran (Volusia County Transit) provides regularly scheduled
transportation to the campus, bus stations, motel/hotel areas,
beaches, hospitals, shopping areas, and major business areas.
Interstate Greyhound Bus Lines also serve the area.
