Introduction Bharati College, a constituent college of the University of Delhi, was started by the Delhi Administration as Bharati Mahila College in Karol Bagh in 1971, under the Chairmanship of Shri L.K.Advani. With a faculty of over 60 qualified, talented and dedicated teachers, the College caters to about 1500 students. The college offers various degree courses at the Bachelor and the Master level including a number of restructured courses like Computer Applications, Office Management and Secretarial Practice, Family and Child welfare. Apart from imparting instructions in various courses of study, the College aims at developing the all round personality of its students and inculcating in them the right values so that they grow up into responsible citizens of the world. |

Location This college is located at C-4 Janakpuri in New Delhi. Art galleries, museums, exhibition grounds, theatre, music and dance facilities are accessible within a radius of a kilometer. |

Facilities The College has a large and well equipped library with the latest text books, reference books and journals in various subjects & disciplines. It also has books, journals and magazines of common interest in order to encourage general reading and broaden the mental horizon of students. |

Societies Apart from academics, the college has vast varieties of Student Activities to keep students involved. Some of them are as follows: Eco Club The College runs an ECO Club which undertakes environmental projects like Water Harvesting, Tree Plantation, Garbage Segregation, Bio-Compositing and Greening in the College premises. It also helps in keeping the premises of the college beautiful and clean. Red Stockings Literary society The dept. of English runs a literary society called the Red Stockings which holds Play Readings, Seminars, Paper Readings and Quizzes through the year. Membership for students of English (Hons) is compulsory. |

Drama Club The College has an active Drama club which produces plays for performance in college and outside. Last year the Drama club produced three plays: Khauff, Charandas-Chor, and Birjis Kadra Ka Kunba. The year before the college won four first prizes at the B.V.Karanth Memorial festival at the National School of Drama for the production of Khauff. |

NCC (National Cadet
Corps) NCC Training is offered at the undergraduate level. It includes Parades and Posture Training, Signal and Map Reading, First-Aid, Home Nursing, Adventure Training Camps and Rifle Shooting. Regular camps and competitions are also organized by the NCC Director for the cadets. |

Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis,
Gymnastics, Handball and Athletics. Special coaching classes are
also organized for sports. The college is starting a Cricket Academy from this academic session. Student will be trained and the College team will participate in various tournaments. |

The College offers a Certificate Course in Russian Language
conducted by the Department of Slavonic & Finno-Ugrian Studies,
University of Delhi, South Campus. Certified Courses are also
offered in French and German language conducted by the Dept. of
Germanic and Romance Studies, North Campus, University of Delhi.
These Courses are of one Year's duration and are also open to women
candidates who may not be regular students of the College. The College offers a number of add-on courses. These include: AICTE approved DOEACC Programme at the 'O' and 'A' Levels in computers in collaboration with MBit Computraining Pvt. Ltd. The 'O' & 'A' level Course is available to the students of Bharati College. A variety of short term computer courses are also on offer to make students proficient in Computers The college, with Delhi School of Media Studies & Professional Education, jointly offers three Certificate Courses in Journalism: • Print Journalism • Media & Mass Communication • Radio & T.V Journalism |
