My definition of success is: success is not a destination but a journey. Success is not reaching a goal but the willingness to strive toward the goal. Success, I beieve begins in the mind and heart of a person that moves them to reach out of themselves to serve someone else. Success is not a selfish mindset or a self-serving accomplishment.

So success for you is a selfless journey to serve others.

Yes, but the desire to serve others begins in the mind. This is my personal definition but I do understand that there are many that look at success in a different light than I do. We also must remember that serving takes on many forms.

Yes, in my personal experience, success is one of those words that means something a little different to every person who uses the word. I like your alignment of success with ‘service.’ When I speak of success I mean doing what you’ve committed yourself to do (with mind and with the heart) with ease, grace, and joy. Since what I’ve committed myself to do is serve, there’s a lot of alignment between us. Like in a Venn diagram when the two circles overlap a LOT.
But I’m also aware that we’re in a conversation here that many people don’t think of as a conversation about ‘success.’

I agree with your definition of success and you are correct that some will not think that this is a conversation about success.
Be encourage in your service for you have been assigned to those you serve.

I would like to elaborate. I think success begins and remains in the mind as we may not view success in the same way. People may have their own cultural or personal interpretations of the meaning of success. Although you mention that people may have their own definitions, I sense that by success you mean seeking something. So, is success getting on not getting what you want? Odell, can you please clarify your definition of success?
Thank you.
