What an inspiring video! I share Johnny Lee’s passion for simple technologies that allow a lot of people to benefit from the huge innovations being made inside companies that have the resources to experiment widely. We need these companies and we need people like Johnny who are willing to think about how to extend the reach of those very expensive to develop innovations to the broadest number of beneficiaries!!
It’s important to credit the makers of the Wii for their work, too.. And it’s just as important to credit BMW for making TED possible. It takes a LOT of resources to do all this creative work and even more to make the communications media we’re all “publishing” by copying and pasting and sharing videographers’ stories about the work.
None of this is free.

Meri, I think we should clarify the definition of the word “free” because everything that is “free” has a “fee” in it. For those who don’t see it; just remove the “r” and you will get the “fee”.

Fascinating. I am wondering about the practicalities of it though. Looking around the web I can’t see widespread adoption, is it just too tricky to get it functioning well? or is it just early days?
