What is "Punch Of The Week"?

Every week Learnhub's team will post one question each on Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability of the GMAT Test Preparation
Members can post their answers along with explanations for the next one week.
After one week, Learnhub's team will post the official answer along with the explanation.Besides answering the previous week's questions, Learnhub's Team will come up with the next set of questions for that week as well.

What are the rules of "Punch Of The Week"?

	Every user must refrain from posting sarcastic comments on the answers posted by others.
	Once the Learnhub's team posts the official answer along with the explanation, no comments must be made regarding those questions. In case of further clarification please send a personal message to the respective team member
	If you think that there is something wrong with the explanation of the Learnhub's Team, which seldom happens, please send a personal message to the respective team member informing him/her the same. Posting the same here will not be considered and will be deleted.

The closing of small, inexpensive hospitals while large expensive hospitals remain open seems a luxury that we can no longer afford in order to maintain them.

The average height of 40 students in a class is 172 cms. 40 students whose average height is 172.5 cms left the class and 50 students whose average height is 170.5 cms joined the class. Find the average height(in cms) of the present class.

D. 170.5
E. 171.4

what is pronoun ‘which’ referring to either luxury over economy or the closing of small..it is ambiguous i guess my ans is C

SC-’C’....’seems to be’ is the correct idiom n also the sentence convey the intended msg through simple and short language….. PS-’NO ANSWER’..... some error in the ques as avg ht of 40 is 172 and 40 out of these with avg ht of 172.5 cannot be deducted….

both D,

Vocalbulay, D sounds better to pronounse and contains the flow.

note in PS (the question seems to be wrong 40 students were average of 172, then 40 students of 172.5 leaves (how can 40 sudents average 172 and 172.5)) Leaving that logic, its 170.5

  right man_d. 40 guys cant have avg 172 & 172.5. i think 4 guys left then the ans is 170.2 cm.
  
  verbal > the right ans is option “d” . ” no longer afford to maintain” i think its a redundancy error.> can no longer afford is enough.to convey the meaning
