Sentence Correction

The closing of small, inexpensive hospitals while large expensive hospitals remain open seems a luxury that we can no longer afford in order to maintain them.

The average height of 40 students in a class is 172 cms. 40 students whose average height is 172.5 cms left the class and 50 students whose average height is 170.5 cms joined the class. Find the average height(in cms) of the present class.

E. 171.4

    what is pronoun ‘which’ referring to either luxury over economy or the closing of small..it is ambiguous i guess my ans is C

    SC-’C’....’seems to be’ is the correct idiom n also the sentence convey the intended msg through simple and short language….. PS-’NO ANSWER’..... some error in the ques as avg ht of 40 is 172 and 40 out of these with avg ht of 172.5 cannot be deducted….

    both D,

    Vocalbulay, D sounds better to pronounse and contains the flow.

    note in PS (the question seems to be wrong 40 students were average of 172, then 40 students of 172.5 leaves (how can 40 sudents average 172 and 172.5)) Leaving that logic, its 170.5
