This is Part II of oLahav's Top 100 Songs List: songs 90-81
Sorry for the wait, but yes, the list goes on!
This is the second part of my very own 100 favorite songs list. This is by no means a conclusive or significant list, so feel free to make your own competitive list. But just because I'd like to share my musical taste, I'm putting this right up on LearnHub. Cool!
Check out Part I in case you missed it.We now go on to songs 90-81 in the list, working our way up. Your welcome to post suggestions and agreements/disagreements with my choices. Waiting for you comments!
And now, let's continue with the songs!
Song 90: That's All, by Genesis. Genesis was a 2-phase band, first with the early, Peter Gabriel era and then the Phil Collins one. And with all due respect to Gabriel and the more progressive band, I like phase 2 better. That's all is one of Genesis's top songs, with a nice cute rhythm and everything. Listen to it here
Song 89: Stand By Me, the John Lennon version. This is one old classic, originally performed by Ben E. King. My favourite versions include the U2/Bruce Springsteen ones, and this one. John Lennon is an expert when it comes to this sort of emotional love song. Here is a nice sample.

Song 88: Live and Let Die, Wings. From Lennon we move to McCartney. Paul started his Wings band after the Beatles, and the sounds was sort of an extension of that in a way. This particular song is actually a James Bond song, which makes it all the more cooler. One of McCartney's best, in my opinion, and here it is.
Song 87: Sir Duke, by Stevie Wonder. You have to give this guy some credit for being blind, right? Sir Duke is one of his most famous songs, and it's featured in lots and movies and everything too. So how can you not like it? Listen to it here.
Song 86: Big Love, Lindsay Buckingham. Originally a song released with Fleetwood Mac, an incredible band, Buckingham performs this song solo as well. He is one of the best finger-style guitarists out there, and this simple song allows him to take the stage on his own and perform big time. Watch Lindsay play here.
Song 85: Lyin' Eyes, from the Eagles. When it comes to soft American rock, nobody does it like the Eagles. They've got so many great songs it's really hard to choose, but this is one of the better ones in my opinion. It has a chorus that can swipe you away. Here it is, live Eagles.

Song 84: Hush, the Deep Purple version. Thought I'm all about softer rock? This part of the list does point to that direction, but at last here comes a good old-fashioned powerful rock song. An incredible bass-line defines this great song by the best hard rock band ever, Deep Purple. Listen, it's right here.
Song 83: Psycho Killer, the Talking Heads. David Byrne is one of the craziest people to ever grab a microphone (which is easily notes by the fact that he has an awful voice). So he sings about a psycho killer. This is the defining song of Talking Heads, a great band, and you've got to check it out here.
Song 82: SOS, ABBA. Yeah, a pop song. ABBA is a pop band I can actually respect, even though they're Swedish and all. They've got nice catchy songs with the funky spirit of the 70's and 80's. Some of their tunes are incredibly addictive, like this one, SOS, which was cited as John Lennon's favourite pop song at one time. If he likes, how can I not? Here is why it's so great.

Song 81: Strange Magic by ELO. Last song of this part of the list is another soft one. ELO is one of the best bands in the world (check out my discussion about it). This is one of Lynne's big ones, with mystical lyrics and a far-off powerful yet soft tune. You have to hear it, right here

As you can clearly see from the name of this community, I’m not very good at and/or… hopefully it doesn’t kill me too soon…
I get the fa-fa-fa Psycho Killer joke… and I could’ve guessed you’d like these songs better being a bass player. These songs aren’t in any order though, so I didn’t mean to suggest ABBA is better than Deep Purple (not that you can even compare them in any way, they’re doing totally different things).
