A day in the life

People that do not follow the sport or have played the sport fail to acknowledge just how tough being a footballer is. The physical and physiological demands are extreme. Players train for the majority of the day and these training sessions are grueling. Such sessions are everyday and this is done for the majority of the year. There is little time for vacations in this line of work.

Players tend to get to practice early and do weights, conditions, etc. then they eat and take a breather before heading out to training session that last for god knows how many hours. After that a player is so exhausted that he goes home and eats before passing out. Then the process will be repeated over and over. In the bigger leagues, training is hardcore and more demanding then those of lesser leagues. There is a reason why the clubs pay the players so much money and in return they expect greatness.

There is a saying, when a player is not training, he is sleeping.

Isn’t the life of a footballer all games, parties, and women? At least that’s what that show Footballer’s Wives would have you believe! I don’t think they train at all ;)

Football? Guys this is Cricket community :) anyway I think this is the case with all professional athletes. Isn’t that the reason why they get paid ridiculous amounts.

The life of a football player involves constant training followed by more weight lifting and more training. Those that choose other ideas, end up being useless and do not play. Don’t get me wrong, many are out and about having a good time but this often leads to a lack of concentration on the pitch. A great example is Ronaldinho at Barca last season. He partied, did not give his all and was sent packing. Once you are that good and you throw it away, its hard to get it back quickly.
