- Read all instructions given in the CAT Bulletin carefully.
- Use a HB Pencil, except when the use of a Ball-point pen with Black Ink is indicated.
- Send the completed original CAT Application Form only in the envelope provided.
- Send the original CAT Application Form duly filled-in along with enclosures in the envelope provided. The last date for receipt of completed application forms at respective IIMs is September 5, 2008. Enclose with the Application Form-
o (a) 3rd copy of Bank's/IIM's Pay-in-Slip
o (b) A copy of Bachelor's degree certificate/provisional certificate if your degree education has been completed, or a certificate from the college/institution that you are in the final year or have completed the final year but are awaiting results, and have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/PWD category candidates)
o (c) A copy of mark sheet indicating percentage marks scored in graduation if your degree education has been completed, or the latest available mark sheet in case you are in the final year or have completed final year but are awaiting results
o (d) Copy of OBC/SC/ST and/or Disability Certificate, if applicable
o (e) One additional copy of the photograph with your name and CAT Application Form Number written at the back.
o Write your Application Form number on the documents mentioned in (a), (b), (c) and (d).
o Do not staple, pin or stitch these documents to the application form. Keep them loose along with the application form inside the envelope.
o NOTE: Failure to enclose the above will result in the rejection of your Application. No corrections will be permitted after submission of the application form. However, in case a candidate identifies any mistake in the submitted form, he/she may buy and submit a fresh form duly filled-in by September 5, 2008.
- Test Admit Cards will be mailed to all eligible CAT applicants by the respective IIMs beginning October 13, 2008. A list of candidates, whose application forms have been rejected, will be put up on the CAT website (www.catiim.in) on October 3, 2008 along with the reason(s) for rejection. Applicants who do not receive their Admit Cards by October 31, 2008 should contact the Admissions Office of the IIM to which they have sent the CAT Application Forms, quoting the Application Form number and the test centre chosen by them.
- Please ensure that you have correctly filled in all the relevant Boxes, including mandatory Boxes marked with '*', i.e. Boxes numbered:
o 1 (Name)
o 8 (Bachelor's Degree, completed or not)
o 11 (Choice of Test Centre)
o 12 (Application to courses of IIMs and Non-IIMs)
o 13 (Your Name and Complete Postal Address)
o 14 (Photograph)
o 15 (Signature)
o 18 Bachelor's Degree (If completed)
o 19 Bachelor's Degree (If Incomplete)
o 35 (Declaration by Candidate)
- Do not staple, pin or stitch your photograph. Paste it firmly in the space provided. Do not sign on the photograph. Don't get it attested.
- Do not tear or mutilate the CAT Application Form.

The Answer Sheet (AS) for CAT 2008 would require darkening circle against option considered correct by the candidate for every attempted question. The AS would also have parts, which need to be filled up by the candidate by darkening the appropriate circles before answering the questions.
- <!--[if !supportLists]-->Choose the correct method of marking the option.
2. Use HB PENCIL only. Do not use a fountain or ball pen on the AS.
- <!--[if !supportLists]-->If you wish to change your answer, ERASE the already darkened circle completely by using a good quality eraser, and darken the circle indicating the new answer. Do not darken more than one circle. If more than one circle is darkened, the answer will be counted as wrong.
- Don't choose any other way to mark the answers than mentioned in the above step. Following are some the most common errors that were found in CAT - 2007 attempt.
NOTE:
- <!--[if !supportLists]-->IIMs would not be responsible for any error in reading the AS due to use of non HB pencil or incomplete darkening of the intended answer
- <!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->While adequate care is taken in processing the answer sheets, IIMs would not entertain any request for revaluation of answer sheet by any candidate.
- <!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->DO NOT tear, bend or mutilate the answer sheet as that may hinder the operations of ORM machines.
- <!--[if !supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->And don't forget to fill the personal details and signature in AS. Answer Sheet used in CAT 2007 is provided below to give you an estimate where you will find the mentioned information.

16, 2008 and occupy the seat on
which your Test Registration Number is pasted. Please note that
the test procedures begin at 10:00 a.m.
You will
NOT be allowed to enter the test hall after 10:00 a.m.

Admit Card, HB Pencils, Ball Point Pen with black ink, eraser,
sharpener and a watch inside the test hall.

!supportLists]--><!--[endif]-->Handle the Answer Sheet
carefully in the test hall so as not to damage it. Do not fold
the Answer Sheet or leave smudges on it.
- <!--[if !supportLists]-->Use only HB Pencil for
writing (including signing) or darkening the circles in the
Answer Sheet.
- Do not bring the following in the test hall.
- Any papers other than the Admit Card - not even for the sake of rough calculations.
- Cellular phone - not allowed even if it's switched off.<!--[endif]-->

Calculators,
watch-calculators, alarm clocks or any other electronic
equipment like: digital watches with built-in
calculators/memory etc. to the test hall.
- <!--[endif]-->Do not occupy a seat
which has a different Test Registration Number pasted on it, even
if that seat is unoccupied.
- <!--[if !supportLists]-->Do not attempt to give/obtain help from fellow-test takers during the test.
