Select a single cell in the dataset. From
the menu, select Data
- Subtotals, as shown
in below .
But please kept in mind that if you want to
use the subtotal option dataset must be in the sorted by name
position.
* The Subtotals dialog assumes that you
want to subtotal by the field in the leftmost column of
your data. It also assumes
that you want to total the rightmost field.
In the present example, we have only two column this is correct, so you can choose OK.
When you copy this view and paste to a new workbook, all of the detail rows come along as well.
Now one more thing you can also use the goto option to move to the certain cell
eg .
If u want to move to d550 cell no and now currently at cellno a1 then press choose go to from edit and type d550 and press ok.
In the present example, we have only two column this is correct, so you can choose OK.
Subtotals will be inserted at each change
in name so that is why dataset should be sorted.
If you scroll to the end of the dataset,
you will notice that Excel added a grand total of all
"names"
COPY JUST TOTALS FROM
SUBTOTALED DATA

- Select the data you want to copy
- Now choose go to from edit menu.
- Click on the special button.
- Now on the visible cells only.
- And now press ctrl+c to copy and now click at the destination and press ctrl+v to paste .
