What is a flash card?

A flash card is a card that is used as a
learning aid. One writes a question on a card and an answer
overleaf.
Flashcards can bear vocabulary, historical dates, formulas or any
subject matter that can be learned via a question and answer
format.
Similarly, A Vocab flash card is generally a piece of paper, or a
page in your pocket diary which has some new words that you're
learning, and on the other side of the paper you write the
meanings of those words.
How do I make a Vocab Flash Card?
The very basic feed to make a flash card is to have the relative data (we'll take care of that for you). Now all you need to do is:-
-
Write down the words on a thin and good quality paper (so that that you can pile up more papers with more durability).
-
Find out their meanings and write them on the other side.(here you will get the meanings that you will need to write down on the other side of the paper)
-
Don't make it too bulky by putting many words on one card. This will make them monotonous and ultimately prove to be of no use. 10 to 12 words are more than enough.
-
At the end of the gathering session, you make a little decks with your flashcards, and put them in a little plastic pocket, or you can use a pocket diary.
-
How to use a Vocab flash card?
This is one of the easiest thing in the world, you will come accross.
-
Whenever you have time you take a deck and begin with one side and try to guess the meaning of the word. If you guessed correctly, you move the flash card to another deck, if not you put it at the end of the original deck.
-
-
Randomly, do the opposite thing. Drill your skills in the other direction. Means try to find the correct word for the meaning you have noted.
-
-
Alot numbers to words in flash card, say, from 1 to 3 where:
- 1 is for the word you are absolutely clear with
- 2 for the word, you have heard but wasn't able to answer to the best suited meaning
- 3 for a totaly new word
-
-
Pen your flash cards in a way that will enable you to recall when, where and how you have gone throgh that particular piece of paper in recent times to facilitate you in recalling the meaning.
When to use a flash card?
I feel this is the best part of using flash cards. This method is best cause you don't need to arrange any special time to learn from your flash cards. Just have your decks/pocket diary on you at all times during the day, and whenever a small moment appears, drill a few cards. Such hidden moments can be :
- Waiting for someone in a restaurant or something
-
- Waiting in Queue at bus stand, museum or cinema
-
- Commuting in public transports
-
- Waiting on the phone when your pal have put you on hold
