International Students at Mansfield University

Mansfield University offers a vast amount of opportunities for all students, whether they're from a small town in Pennsylvania or from across the ocean in India. Here's a great introduction to the support and resources you can depend on when you enroll at Mansfield:

Housing and Residence Life
We guarantee on-campus housing for every student for four years. All residence hall rooms are wired for computer access. There are four residence halls, one of which is for women only. Options include double rooms, single rooms, and suites. We match roommates carefully and offer many of the conveniences of home:

  • Computer Labs
  • Common Kitchens
  • Exercise/Weight Rooms
  • Study Lounges
  • Laundry Areas
  • Television Lounges

Every room comes equipped with computer jacks, e-mail, and cable TV hookups. As well, international students can get a phone line for a small fee if they desire to have a land phone. All the residence halls are within short walking distance from classroom buildings and other facilities. American and international students live together and learn cultural differences and similarities from one another. Our students develop cross-cultural and leadership skills by participating in various programs organized by Residence Life!

Alumni Hall Student Center
Alumni Hall is the university's community center for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. The Student Center hosts various student activities, student organization offices and conference rooms. It also houses the main campus bookstore and Jazzman's Cafe.

Campus Life
We are devoted to creating a campus where students can get involved in various activities and become leaders. We encourage all of our students to participate in student organizations and activities to enrich their college experience. There are over 100 student clubs and organizations, including the Mansfield International Student Organization (MISO), Latino Student Organization, Student Government, Travel Club, Club Canada, Black Student Union and many more!

Academic Advising
International students will be assigned an academic advisor in addition to an international advisor. An advisor helps you plan your academic progress. The goal of the Advising Center is to serve as a resource area and to help you adjust to college.

The Learning Center
The Learning Center offers tutorial assistance and professional consultation for students who wish to improve basic reading, writing, computational and computer skills - or to extend their knowledge in academic content areas.

Other Student Services include:

  • Campus Dining Hall
  • Career Services
  • Counseling Center
  • Campus Police
  • Center for Lifelong Learning
  • Financial Aid Office
  • Student Health Services
  • Study Abroad Office
  • International Student Mentoring Program (ISMP)

As you can see, the environment for students at Mansfield is incredibly supportive and engaging. The organizations, opportunities and resources which are offered to every student on campus will no doubt create an enriching academic experience. Be a part of it today!
