International Students

What are the
general requirements?
If you wish to apply for admission to the Graduate School at the
University of West Georgia, here are the requirements. Please note
that these are minimal requirements. Some programs may require
additional criteria.
1. Complete and return application form and pay non-refundable
$30.00 application fee (in US dollars only).
2. Submit two official transcripts from each college or university
you have attended.
3. Foreign Credential Evaluation for all course work (secondary
and/or college/university) obtained outside of the United States by
an independent credential evaluation service is required. The
evaluation must be a course by course evaluation with an overall
grade point average.
4. Submit an official GRE score for the
masters (MA, MS, MEd, MPA, MMus in Music
Education or Performance) degree programs and the doctoral program
in Psychology.
5. Submit an official GMAT score for the
MBA and MPACC
degree programs.
6. Unless you have earned a degree from an American college or
university, all students from non-English speaking countries must
supply a TOEFL score of
523 or above (paper-based test) or 193 or above (computer-based
test).
MBA and MPACC applicants must supply a score of 550
or above (paper-based test) or 213 or above (computer-based test).
TOEFL score requirements for the
internet-based (TOEFL iBT) is 69-70. Those interested in the
MBA or MPACC
must submit a TOEFL iBT score of
79-80.
7. Three letters of recommendation are also required.
What types of
financial aid are available for international graduate
students?
International student applicants are able to apply for graduate
research assistantships and graduate assistantships. A limited
number of out-of-state tuition waivers are also available to
international students.
Domestic and international student applicants accepted into the
Graduate School as full-time degree-seeking students may apply for
a limited number of out-of-state tuition waivers. Applicants with
demonstrated superior academic ability are invited to apply for a
waiver of the non-resident portion of tuition. To be considered for
a waiver, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- TOEFL - 550 (paper-based test) - 213 (computer-based test)
- TOEFL iBT - 79-80
- GMAT - 480
- GRE - 450
Applicants must submit an analytical writing test score for the GMAT and GRE as well.
How much is tuition for me?
For an international student who is enrolling in graduate school, the tuition is $774.56 per credit hour. Tuition for International Graduate Students in the MBA or MPACC Programs is $643.00 per credit hour.
