"Waltham Forest College is very special to us because it is where we started our journey in the UK. WFC was the first place where we met so many friends from all over the world, experienced the great British culture, listened to the standard English accent, and met the most important person of my life - my husband Marvin, who is also my twin boys' father.
At WFC, the study atmosphere, the programmes, the facilities and the teachers were fantastic. We studied a one-year EFL course between Sep 2000 and Jul 2001 at WFC and we enjoyed every day of it. We then both went on to study at Middlesex University.
Marvin obtained two degrees of BSc (Honours) Business Information Systems and MSc E-Commerce, and I obtained a degree of BA (Honours) Marketing. Marvin now works as a Business Analyst in the UK Insurance industry in the City of London, while I work as a Sales and Administration Executive for a media company in London Bridge.
On one of our anniversary days we purposely went back to WFC. We revisited the buildings, the rooms where we used to have classes and the canteen where we used to share one big deli. We both became emotional and all the past wonderful memories have been brought back, again!
Luckily on that day we also met lovely Jenny who used to be our teacher and she is the first person from the UK who witnessed my relationship with Marvin. Jenny and we are now very good friends and we have been keeping in touch with each other since we left WFC."
