Studying strategies, Time management, Self analysis

Photo 24192Preparing for entrance exams can give you sleepless nights. However, if you follow a fixed schedule without stressing yourself out, you would fare well in your exams. The article focuses on the right approach to follow while preparing for entrance exams. Although I am no expert, but these are some of the things that I have learnt from my personal experience and wish to share with you all.

Strategy : A core aspect

I believe there are three aspects of preparation that you need to follow strictly. The first one is to formulate a strategy which suits you. This can include forming a time table to follow daily or joining coaching classes. It includes anything and everything you believe that you need to do to be able to crack the entrance exam. You are the best judge of yourself as you know your strengths and weakness. Understanding those strengths and weaknesses is the toughest part, but once you are through with it, you just need to get your act together and work on them.

There are various ways you can formulate that work best for you. For some studying with friends together can yield better results while for others if might turn in to a gossip session. Library is always a great resource so make sure you utilize it efficiently. If you are stuck with any problem, do not hesitate to consult your teacher. Also doubts are a part of the learning process, so make sure you get them cleared as soon as possible. Nothing beats understanding the concepts while they are being taught rather than leaving the classroom with doubts hovering in your mind.

Time Management : Mantra to success

Time management is the most important aspect and understandably so. Time is limited but if you utilize it efficiently, it is more than enough to help you sail through comfortably. I have repeatedly stressed on the importance of following a time table as it helped me a lot. But if you can manage time efficiently without one, nothing like it.

Time management not only covers how many hours you study, but how many hours you sleep and relax as well. You need good amount of sleep everyday to keep yourself healthy and fit. Take small breaks between couple of hours of study to relax and not stress out. Also don't take fatty diet if that makes you fall asleep as soon as you open the book!

Self Analysis : A necessity

Self analysis plays a major role when there is cut-throat competition. If not always wiser to look at your competitor for inspiration rather look for your weaknesses. Try to improve on your weaknesses that will go a long way in helping you prepare for the exams. Spend more time on improving your weak subjects apart from consolidating stronger ones. Balancing out both of them is an essential part that needs to be handled carefully.

A time to time evaluation on where you stand among your peers is important. Exams are one such part of the exercise that gives you a clear picture. In the end it boils down to getting the perfect combination of the above three mentioned aspects to crack the entrance examination code.
