Hi Suresh, I like the presentation and the examples too. However I have a doubt. Slide # 5 . Two mixtures A & B contain milk and water in the ratio 2:5…....
I found it difficult to get to the actual answer. After you left us at the point where I we got the answer how many ltrs are there in container A. Do we have to find that really? All we need to know is how many more ltrs need be added to convert the ratio of M:W i.e. 5:4 into 2:5 by adding M:W from container A.
I still could not reach to the answer. Sorry, I just am no good at maths.

Dear Sanchit, the problem here is that we need to add certain gallons from vessel A to 90 gallons of vessel B such that the resultant mixture contains 40% milk. So we found the ratio of the number of gallons that must be mixed from vessel A and vessel B so that the resultant mixture is 40% milk and that ratio turned out to be 49:36, which means for every 36 gallons from B we need to add 49 gallons from A.

Dear muktasamant, we are really sorry for the error that has crept in. Anyway, the problem is resolved and now you can learn the concept of “Alligation” discussed in this presentation.
Regards,

Dear siva,
When we use alligation, the contents that we take must represent the same kind. So in the first question, where we have considered peanuts and cashew, I have decided to go by the peanuts percentage in both the varieties considered. Since the second variety is pure cashew, the percentage of peanuts in it is 0% and it is this the 0% stands for and not the percentage of cashew
