I find this talk complex and interesting for our communitiy Constructivsm and I hope that I didn´t miss the point by sharing it here … ;))

Thanks so much for posting this here, Tatjana. Would you be willing to share it in the conversation about Lessons, Debates and Discussions, too? It seems ABSOLUTELY pertinent to that conversation and I’m not sure the folks who are going there are also stopping by this “room” here…

It seems to me that Alan is incorrect in saying that the necessity for multiple perspectives isn’t taught in K-12 curriculua in the US… I think that collaborative learning strategies and methods ARE beginning to make it into the PROCESS of learning and that multiple perspectives are certainly arising all over the social networking/blogging sphere, especially amongst young people. I’m guessing that this is an extension of their (albeit limited) experiences on learning teams… And this actually makes me quite hopeful.

I’ve been a passionate participant observer of alternative education since 1970, so this is a loooooong trail, but I am beginning to see a greater ability to process difference and make it into VALUE, instead of something to be afraid of. And, I realize this is happening right alongside the backlash of fanaticism that is also growing… But I see this as a process of positive evolution that is still very much underway…and will still be underway for long after my body wears out…

The US political process right now looks like evidence of this to me…
