Lesson 1 - Visualising Your Future Self

In Visualising Your Future Self, you can create the life you love. This is the first step to Working With Passion.

Imagine yourself in 3yrs. You’ve been doing what you love for quite some time, you have a rhythm, a purpose, and a smile on your face most days. As you consider the following questions, try not to think about what you’re doing for work, but rather how you feel about work and everything around it.

What does your day look like? How does it start? Who is in your day from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep? Where are you? How are you dressed? Do you have a routine? What makes you smile for the first time each day? What keeps you going throughout the day? What is the last thing you do before you go to bed?

Take a few moments to consider the answer to all of these questions, and write them down freely on a piece of paper. Form and structure don’t matter much in this exercise, just get your words out. Maybe you’d rather just use bullet points. Maybe you’d like to use mind mapping. Maybe you’d rather just draw. Whichever way is most comfortable for you to express your feeling, embrace it.

This is an important tool in preparation of Lesson Two.

I enjoyed this lesson and reflected on the questions you posed. A few years ago, I visualized where I would like to be doing later in life – and decided teaching others, helping others, and learning are the things that I am passionate about. I looked for ways outside of my primary career to learn and develop in eLearning management. My vision is to make a difference in the business world for both employers and employees by providing training / courses that will improve the work environment.
