Hi could you please elaborate on how to shortlist US universities that one would want to apply to based on scores? How would I know the cut-off scores to each university and their additional requirements? And I don’t mean information posted on their websites. that would really help thanx

hi i am paresh samnerkar .i am interested in gre .i am student of com.sci. 2nd year . then i am eligible for gre. i have all information fr gre & advantages & disadvantages for gre .
Hi Paresh, yes you can give gre in 2nd year since GRE score remain valid for 5 years. You will be able to get admission into M.S after you have completed 16(12+4) years of education. In case you have any other query let us know.
Hi I am Prashanth Kumar. I am a Sowtware Engg. (BE CS in Evening college VTU). I have 66.5 % aggregate. Am I eligible for MS? How can I plan for an university when I am not sure of my GRE or TOEFL score? If I have to take GRE and TOEFL, with preparation of 2 hours a day, when do you think it will be very helpful to take these tests?
Please advice. Thanks
thanks ,but i am Bsc student then i am eligible .how to start the prepration of gre & tofel .please send me gre tips for study & once again thanks for you
Yes, you are eligible for GRE. Though you can give gre anytime but graduate schools allow you to pursue masters only when you have completed ( 12+4) years of education. So after completing B.Sc you will have to enroll in an additional course that is of minimum 1 year duration. You can join our GRE community and TOEFL community to get yourself prepare for these exams.

You can start giving Powerprep, Kaplan mock tests 15 days before the exam. This will give you a rough idea of gre score and thus which universities you need to apply. Studying for 3 months should suffice.

Hi Deepa, Your response helped me to come to a decision. Thanks for your valuable suggestion :)
This community has lot of lessons in it. I was thinking that completion of all these lessons is enough for me start taking mock tests. Nevertheless, during mock ups too i will gain a lot. Is my approach correct? Hope I am not asking for too much Thanks in advance :)
Hi Prashanth, you are following the right approach. Once you have reviewed the lessons practice giving as many tests as possible. Focus more on the areas where you are weak at.

I AM CONFUSED MAM…N ALSO LITTLE TENSED…......AM I DOING THE RIGHT THING ?
Hema, you should not worry. The only thing is you will not be able to apply to universities that have deadlines in Dec or early Jan else there is no harm in giving exam in December. There are few good universities that have deadlines in the month of Feb/March too and you can apply to those.
Check out What’s a scholarship and how do I get one?.
Also, you can join our Schloraship and Financial Aid community.
Good luck!!
