    Derick, we have a naive time expiry based caching scheme for profiles. Basically what this means is that when you change something it will take some time for the changes to be reflected across the site. We know that this is not ideal and we are working on it, thanks for bringing this issue up.

    I have a couple Rack application running on a 512 slice at Slicehost, very excellent service and great performance. From my experience it’s noticeably more responsive than a small EC2 instance. I’ve also heard good things about Linode although I have not used them myself.

    I have yet to migrate to it, I’m using Nginx + Passenger so I just installed Ruby Enterprise Edition since it’s the path of least resistance. I’d like to experiment with it a bit, I should set up an Ubuntu box and see how it plays with some of my stuff under Passenger.
