    I should point out that this question was published in the Semantic Awesome community, which is all about writing well-formed HTML. In that context, tables should only be used when defining tabular data and not for purposes of visual layout.

    In my opinion, the idea of making $80,000 a year fresh out of school with no prior work experience is pretty unrealistic. That said, I think an MBA is definitely a contributing factor along with many others, some of which @albrecht pointed out above, that would work in your favor to making more money.

    Technical Tidbits

    • LearnHub is a Rails application.
    • Currently we use a Nginx with a Mongrel cluster behind HAProxy.
    • All development and design is done in-house, in Toronto.
    • We use Git for source control.
    • We use Haml for our HTML templating and Sass for CSS.

    • We launched our private beta after three months of development, on January 8th, 2008.
    • We launched our first public release on March 4th, 2008.
