You can simplify the equation to t ^ 2 + 11 t – 24 = 0. This factors as (t + 12) (t – 1) =0, so t = 1 or – 11. Clearly – 11 makes no sense, so t=1. Hopefully that’s right anyway, let me know if I made a mistake somewhere…
