  1. From the trivia question Which band first performed the rock anthem song "We Will Rock You"?

    Wed, 13 May 2009 01:24:15 -0000

Classic track. They’ve played that at every single professional sporting event I’ve ever been to.

  2. From the trivia question There was a green house. Inside the green house there was a white house. Inside the white house there was a red house. Inside the red house there were lots of babies. What is it?

    hahahahaha.

  3. From the trivia question What is the 2nd person, singular, imperfect, active, subjunctive form of the verb "to be"?

    Wed, 13 May 2009 01:17:43 -0000

I had no idea. Would love to learn latin… but it looks so complicated!

  4. From the trivia question When expressing thanks to someone who has given you a gift, you should:

    Wed, 13 May 2009 01:10:59 -0000

I agree that a handwritten note is proper in most cases… but I suspect that a verbal thank you is most appropriate if the gift is small or if your relationship with the gifter is very informal.

I would be baffled if a good friend wrote me a thank you note for picking up the tab at lunch!

  5. From the trivia question Which artist is famous for cutting off his own left ear and giving it as a gift to a prostitute?

    Wed, 13 May 2009 01:06:29 -0000

Van Gogh is indeed famous for this… but I heard its actually not true! Consider this, put out recently by NPR (National Public Radio, a reliable US-based news source):

“Most anyone who’s had a beginning art history class knows the story of how the great Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh sliced off part of his left ear during a fit of madness. Now a team of German historians has published a new book arguing that the whole tale is untrue. The story of van Gogh’s madness was part of a coverup, the authors say, by none other than van Gogh’s friend and fellow artist Paul Gauguin.”—NPR, May 10th, 2009.

  6. From the trivia question CARTON, ENJOYMENT, WORDSMITH Which of the following words continues the above sequence?

Fantastic question! I looked at this for a couple minutes and then gave up, and guessed (incorrectly).

Thanks for this humbling question. Made my day.

  7. From the trivia question Who was the first man to cross the English Channel in an aeroplane?

I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think you require SAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, or any other standardized tests to apply to Schiller. Its a pretty unique university… did you see their study-work program? They also have scholarships.

You can start your application to Schiller here.

    Good luck!

    Wow what a beautiful campus.

Arkansas is a beautiful state overall… I was there once about 5 years ago. (We were driving through to Texas from Canada.) I visited the boyhood hometown of Bill Clinton! I wonder if that’s far from campus…

Bill Clinton was born in Hope, AR (what a great name to be born in!) but was raised in Hot Springs. Hot Springs AR is the oldest national park in the US and an hour and half drive from our campus. We take students for a field trip there and they seem to enjoy the theme park, Magic Springs & Crystal Falls :)

Have you applied for the LearnHub Dream Scholarship? This scholarship wouldn’t cover all your expenses, but its a start towards paying for your Ms & Ph.D. programme in the US.

From the sounds of it you would thrive in the US. You can apply to universities in the US here on LearnHub.
