I use the passive voice all the time… I really should stop.
We should note though, that using the passive voice is actually not grammatically incorrect, it just sounds a lot worse and should not be used.

In the US, journalism as you describe is under attack by editorialized reporting. Consider the 2 most popular news shows: Keith Olbermann’s “Countdown”, on MSNBC, and Bill O’Reilley’s “O’Reilley Factor”, on Fox.
They are both hyper-political… switching between their coverage of the 2008 US election, you’d think they were talking about 2 completely different presidential races.
