Did they die of natural causes?
Spoiler Alert – I’m guessing the answer so don’t read if you are still guessing!
Turn on the first switch for several minutes. Then turn on the second switch and go into the room. The first switch corresponds to the bulb that is hot. The second to the bulb that is on. The third to the cold bulb that is off.
What about job interviews? I was interviewing for a position in India and 50% of the candidates never showed up! I was told this was completely normal by people in India because the economy is booming so much and people keep getting more and more opportunities. I’ve also been told that people accept jobs and then fail to show up on the first day. Is this your experience?
My favorite soundtracks are:
1) Preisner’s music for the Three Colours (Blue, White, Red) Trilogy by Kieslowski
2) Ennio Morricone’s music for The Mission
3) Jonny Greenwood’s music for There WIll be Blood
4) John Corigliano for The Red Violin
5) The Miami Vice Soundtrack (hey, it can’t all be serious!)
Yes, great lesson. I have an orchid that isn’t doing well. I thought they didn’t like sun so I put it far from the window.
The pot the orchid came in is opaque glass and has no drainage. As a result I can’t tell how much water it has. Should I replant it? What is the best pot?
Love in the Time of Cholera. Great book, HORRIBLE movie. They turned a deep and thought-provoking book into a high-budget latin soap opera.
I read this book at least 10 years ago but my dislike of it is so memorable that it still evokes strong emotion. I couldn’t stand the main character, Holden. Simply put, he was a loser. I just wanted a truck to run him over so I wouldn’t have to hear his inane thoughts anymore.
Others have told me that you have to be a teenage boy to “get it”. Really? Is that what teenage boys are like?
Yes, which is why it is so funny…
Not a milk fan. I like the pure taste of tea. No sugar either. I suppose I’m a tea purist. :) I do like the sounds of tea with ginger, pepper etc. Do you have a recipe?
In India, tea seems to be brewed using hot milk, not hot water like I’m used to. Is this the case all over India?
The CC license tells the licensee (ie, the user who downloads a member’s CC-licensed content) what that user can do with that content. The non-commercial clause in the CC license reads as follows: You may not exercise any of the rights granted to You in Section 3 above in any manner that is primarily intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or private monetary compensation.
That would suggest using the term primarily means unquatifiable benefits aren’t covered. However, I’m not a lawyer… :)
I have no problem with Dumbledore being gay – I just thought throwing that out after the fact, where it had no real relation to the story, was sort of pointless. Still, nothing to do with the actual book and its ending.
I tend to agree here. I didn’t like the ending very much. A tad too melodramatic.
Perhaps the Christ piece was to appease all of the conservative Christian groups who tried to stop children from reading Harry Potter because of the witchcraft?
Then again, she sort of lost that group when she revealed Dumbledore was gay. (Something else that just doesn’t fit into the story.)
I really enjoy the Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. I think it is around $18.
I agree regarding Nero d’Avola. I discovered it when visiting Sicily. It is very full bodied and usually very cheap. Great simple wine for every day drinking.
If anyone can recommend a good sparkling wine/champagne that is not expensive that would be much appreciated!
I just missed it! That is too bad. Let me know of any other such events so I can check it out. Perhaps I’ll change my mind.
What a gorgeous poem!
I don’t think so. It depends on your outlook. To some people, many teachers are ideal. To others, none exist.
I think it is good. People tend to emulate celebrities, and this is the sort of behavior we should encourage.
I read his book – “Stumbling on Happiness”. Definitely worth the read. The most surprising revelation was that things we think will make us very happy/unhappy don’t. At least not in the degree we expect them to. Another one is how our brain deals with certain situations. Apparently, we tend to regret something we didn’t do rather than something we did do. It is easier to explain away a mistake, than a missed opportunity. Moral of the story – take more risks, I suppose. :)
I think this is where live online tutoring really helps. If you can converse with a native speaker on a regular basis it really helps.
