About Me
I am currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Administration and Counseling at Niagara University, New York, USA. I have served as a high school social studies teacher, k-12 curriculum coordinator, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction and superintendent of schools in New York from 1968-2003. I was an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Georgia, USA and Coordinator of the Educational Leadership Programs including Doctoral Coordinator from 2003 to 2008. I have authored several research and journal articles, a book chapter in “Educators Healing Racism” and recently had a book on the American superintendency published: “The Dark Side of Educational Leadership: Superintendents and the Professional Victim Syndrome”. I am currently working on additional national research on the American superintendency, “Living on the Horns of Dilemmas: Superintendent Decision-making and Problem-solving”. In addition, I am working on research issues related to: diversity, school building leadership, and constructivist teaching and learning. I am a past president of the International Society for Educational Planning and am currently on the Board of Directors of that international organization as well as the conference chair for the 2009 annual conference which will be held in Savannah, Georgia, USA from October 7-10, 2009. Recently, I was elected president of the University of Buffalo/Buffalo State Chapter (47) of the International Phi Delta Kappa organization. I have been an adjunct professor at the following Western New York institutions of higher education since 1970: Niagara University, Buffalo State College, State University of New York @ Buffalo, Medaille College, Brockport State University and Niagara County Community College. I have presented clinics, workshops and conference sessions in 30 states of the United States and in over a dozen countries worldwide. I love teaching and learning and have dedicated the rest of my life to helping others achieve their professional goals. Subsequently, I am also currently working to implement a new Doctoral Program (Ph.D.) at Niagara University. My goal is to have this program implemented in 2010.
