      hi riyana,

      there are no grey areas – but it appears that way due to an intrinsic quality of the human eye;

      in this case, our eyes tend to fill out the colors b/w the black squares and the white gaps – hence the illusion of grey squares;

      interesting, isn’t it?

      if you look carefully at the figure – the angle at the lower right corner is obtuse and that at the lower left corner is acute; as a result, the left diagonal appears to belong to a “much bigger” parallelogram and therefore we feel that it’s the longer diagonal;

      it’s actually a really good illusion – but it’s difficult to deduce that the diagonals have the same length – unless we derive a mathematical proof for it (using similar triangles, etc, if possible)

      does this help?

      An adjective talks about the qualities of a noun.

      An example would be – “My mother has long hair” – in this sentence the word long is the adjective, since it tells us a certain quality (length) about a thing (the hair)

      For an abstract noun – “My mother is an ocean of love” here – the “love* is the abstract noun – it’s a thing that can’t bee seen heard, touched, etc.

      Does this clarify things?

  7. From the trivia question Each day a man meets his wife at the train station after work, and then she drives him home. She always arrives exactly on time to pick him up. One day he catches an earlier train and arrives at the station an hour early. He immediately begins walking home along the same route the wife drives. Eventually his wife sees him on her way to the station and drives him the rest of the way home. When they arrive home the man notices that they arrived 20 minutes earlier than usual. How much time did the man spend walking?

    If u dont mind I want to suggest u something. If u cud replace Indian Prayer into Universal Prayer, then it wud be much better…....prayer has a universal appeal.Actually d word “Indian” remain confined to a certain limits. If u dont wanna change it, then it’s just all right.

  11. From the trivia question A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50." The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less. In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. What did the man write on paper to win the bet?

    Sun, 01 Feb 2009 12:34:22 -0000

    I think “more or less than 40 pounds” is also correct.

  12. From the trivia question Which of the following hint is helpful to answer "Name an English word with FOUR consecutive vowels."

      Only the right answer matters here, “QUEUING” or “QUEUE” both are right to be kept in mind while interpreting the given phrase “in front of a busy booking window”. Thanks Riyana! :)

    The point is “AWARENESS”. They r not aware of the qualitative aspect of that particular thing,(i.e good or bad).They can’t judge rationally.So it’s the duty of elders to guide them and make them feel the consequences of those things.
