I am sure we will all be fine. Just like bank machines and the Y2K scare.

Hi Glenn, I have not had a look at that offering but wanted to let you know about a similar tool www.wpeau.ca It’s a free collection of lessons and interactive excercises for praticing English grammar and has sections specifically related to a number of different industries.
It appears as though you have used “witness” in its form as a noun and not as a verb. As a verb it would be witnesses. “Bears witness to” would be the most correct way to translate qui temoigne.
how true. I just finished a paper for school and it had to be 2500 words. Back in my undergrad days I would be struggling to stretch it out to that. Now in my grad studies it was all I could do to limit myself to 2500. Short is good – not easy – but good
hfisher you raise a great point. Can there be a replacement for actual human contact in the develoment of emotional intelligence? I think interactions are key to the development of some skills sets and less important in others. That is where the fine balance between mediums comes into play. I like your thought on taking leadership courses in person, gather a foundation online and then find a way to apply it.
Hi dstirton. I am completing a distance course right now and agree completly with the increased discipline required. I think that balances with my ability to get more out of the course though as I am working at it during my peek performance times and not those dictated by someone elses peek performance schedule.
Thanks Margaret, I appreciate it.
Hi Niagara, It’s taken me a bit to get back online, I agree that a blended approach works very well for a majority of people. Learning styles are difficult things to address as they are as individual as finger prints.
Hi Sachin, a distance MBA has the same challenges as a traditional MBA. The value lies in the the reputation of the school, the effort the students put into their studies and the contacts you can make. As a result there are some fantastic programs and some questionable ones. If you are considering a distance MBA please take a look Athabasca University’s Centre for Innovative Management (CIM). CIM has been offering onine MBA’s since 1994 and is fully accredited in both Canada and the USA. – https://www.mba.athabascau.ca
Hey Maniaque, I’ve asked my contacts at UofA and UofC if they can shed any light on this for me and I will share it with you. Regardless of which school you pick make sure you go to their “student awards” section and complete everything you can with regard to scholarship application. There’s lots of money for students as long as they take the time to complete the application process.
awesome, something else I learned on Learnhub. Thanks Chetan2u
The trans-Canada highway runs from Victoria BC to St John’s NF or from St John’s NF to Victoria BC depending on which way you are going and is 7821 km or 4860 miles long. I am lucky enough to have driven all if it. Not all at once but in different adventures.
Popeye has a pretty good laugh too though it’s not his trademark
Hi Jaspreet, It is an interesting question you pose. Private Vs. Public Universities always sparks some good debate. I think the first step is to define the programs you are interested in and then look at the schools. This will let you see in which markets the leading schools are. Also placement would most often be determined by the school in question and not it’s funding platform.
Hi Zebra,
Living in Canada I have to say Canada should be your top priority for settling down if all other things are equal. The world bank says that Canada will be one of the top five countries to come out of the global recession. Of course Canada is a giant country so thought must be given to where in Canada you would settle.
Hi Gapgirl, I think you will find both Humber and Sheridan to be good schools for your HR diploma. The CHRP designation is related to the body of knowledge surrounding HR practices in Canada and has been used as a model for many other country’s professional HR designations. Here is a link to the CHRP designation site. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be valid for int’l students who are looking to practice HR in Canada
Hi Maniaque, There’s a way to get a Canadian MS without completing the GRE or even moving to Canada. Take a look at Athabasca University’s School of Computing & Information Systems: http://scis.athabascau.ca/
Athabasca University is an Open and Distance University that was founded almost 40 years ago and is accredited in both Canada and the USA. : http://www2.athabascau.ca/aboutau/index.php
wow it’s great to learn new words. I was 100% certain that Torpor wasn’t an English word. I am happy to have been proven wrong.
It really depends on where you want to go with your career for us to make a suggestion. I would like to suggest that you take a look at two programs that are offered by Athabasca University. We are a distance university from Canada which would allow you to earn a North American degree while studying at home. The two programs that might be of interest to you are:
University Certificate: Human Resources and Labour Relations: http://www2.athabascau.ca/programs/uchrlr/
and
Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations http://www2.athabascau.ca/programs/bhrlr/
