But you don’t know that without hunting we’d be living in a better world! It’s in human nature to hunt, and if we didn’t maybe we wouldn’t survive to be living here and having this debate. And without cloning and artificially breeding animals we wouldn’t have enough food to feed the world, would we? We now have better, cheaper meats, and bigger fruit and veggies thanks to science, and that’s a good thing. And there’s no proof that modified food is worse than natural food- nobody ever bothered researching natural food because we’ve been growing it for years and nothing wrong ever seemed to occur, but modified food has been tested so it may in fact be safer. See my point?

Embellished or normal, I would say just try to impress them. Mention some key achievements that makes always a great difference I would say. Just listing your tasks would make it just ordinary like any other CV.

Does Higher Levels imply gaining higher levels of potential Energy !!!! Well further on the energy front , Person needs to have strong internal self energy to figure out from such high perspective, where in he is free from the materialistic world….and i think it is a really tough job, though not impossible. How you define progress as i understood is that it has a single outcome —> Favorable event by avoiding unfavorable event , as defined in probability

As we know energy is constant, then your outcome really defies it. What my point is, we are bound by constraints & a favorable event would result in some uncontrollable unfavorable event…Beyond our control..

That’s exactly my point. You’re “looking at the world from a higher perspective”... but why?
I believe that we should only look at the world from the realistic perspective we’re living in, take it in as it is. There’s no point of saying “if there was no war the world would be a better place”, since we don’t know that for sure, if there was no war maybe we would still be living under a dictatorship and have a much worse economy. We should just make the best use of what we do have.

But I respect your opinion, and maybe we should just agree to disagree on this issue.

ur right in asking why, but u need to understand the dynamics of human interactions, they do not fit into a mathematical model. Let say that we dont want any progress, then how do u see the world ahead…. There are limitations and the biggest one is prediction of human behviour….Look around and you find yourself being a user of some product/commodity right from day start till day end…As Ohlahav said, if we dont get we complain and if we get we find faults

Perfectly said, that science is how out great scientists have shaped it…they shattered many of our claims about impossible….i am not saying all but a few set of them… When u say it speaks for itself..it speaks for our ignorance and incapability to know about such topics like ghosts at this time frame, but we cannot predict about future, so it does not really say for itself, it just says at this time, we cannot give an answer….

I’m sorry, but I still disagree. Maybe it’s just a matter of different outlooks on the world.

I mean, sure, you can look everywhere and see signs of greed and lust and evil, just the same as you can see signs of goodness everywhere. And every coin has two sides.

For examples, you look at rich CEOs of big companies and think, with all their money and their greed and the people they probably hurt along the way, these are people who cause are world to degrade. But at the same time their companies offer products we all enjoy using, things which increase are comfort and improve our lives.

Even war has its good sides. Those who fight it often see it as justified, they fight for a cause to liberate their people or redeem lost lands. Sure, wars kill lots of people, sometimes innocent lives are lost… but in the end if we free a country from a reign of terror and introduce democracy and relative peace into it, it’s sometimes worth it. And no, I’m not pro-war, I’m just trying to say that you can see everything as good or bad.

So I don’t really know what the big picture is. But I know I’d rather be living now than I would in the Middle Ages, or the 19th century, or any other time (except maybe the 70’s, where rock and roll was really alive and kicking). So in my opinion at least, the world is getting better. Like the Beatles sang, “it’s gettin’ better all the time”.

As for your point about nuclear bombs- how do I know they actually exist? I never actually seen or experienced one. Sure, in theory, I know they’re evil weapons of mass destruction… but that’s in theory. War is a horrible thing, sure, and I actually have experiences relating to that, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I rather focus on the things in life I know I can fix.

In addition, how can you say the world is degrading? A few years ago nobody did anything about global warming, for example. Because they didn’t know about it. Now all of a sudden it’s come to global attention, but doesn’t mean the world suddenly took a turn for the worse- it just means we know we made a mistake and know we can try and work towards fixing it. Nobody now pollutes on purpose anymore, right? Or least if they do they have a reason for it and they try to hide or eliminate it. And it’s the same story with everything from slavery and racism (which we have eliminated) to poverty in Africa and terrorism. Now that we know it may seem bad, but it’s actually the first step for a solution, isn’t it?

I call that progress.

It is our limited understanding as human beings which makes us say this…so fact still remains that you are trying to predict something about future, but fact is that claim itself is probablistic..

I think science has…..leaped to its highest level but still….....it hasn`t got enough fire power to solve the never ending debate over existance of life,time and space.Life is a mystic…......it has its own secrets….even after so much of existing theories it is still unknown how exactly life came into being,how cells were formed and how did those micro particles created such a huge diversity of species ranging from unicellular bacteria to multicellular organisms like us,again TIME….....no one knows what it is and how it was created…...is it an another dimension or an imaginary criteria no one knows…..and finally SPACE….....if we put a bit pressure on our brains and think then we will find that space is nothing but the home place for all the planets,stars n galaxies….....but have we ever thought…where is the home place for the SPACE itself…......where thus it lies….....and if it lies in an another dimension then where thus that dimension lies….........these are some questions to which even science being at its highest level can never explain….....!!

i think we r degenerating on a real level…......man is bringing his own doom by himself…....from stock market break down to global warming…...................everything is related to our own deeds…......man have gone so greedy that he has stopped caring about the world….........everybody nowadays thinks about his/her own personal needs and the world around himself, technology perhaps has given us the driving seat but it has also boost a whole lot of unavoidable circumstances, as for example the invention of highly sophisticated war weapons…....let me ask…....why should people create such weapons which one day might destroy the whole world at an instant…..its time to wake up n think about tis issue at whole new level….....or else we will have no future…...n tats for sure….........!!!
