Packed meaning you weren’t able to register? Were you able to talk to someone at your local testing center?
The word “was” mirrors what was first mentioned before the introduction of the Monk. Yes, your answer is correct, however to have the best answer picked possible, it would be using “was”.
1. Defendant is spelled incorrectly
2. Far should be spelled as jar
If you think this is a good honest question to help with you GMAT preparation, you would use the word “fair”. As fair means something is equal, balanced or just. “Fare” refers to a payment or token, most likely used when boarding a bus, or using it as a way of transportation payment.
hi bgupta,
the verb “extending” is referring to the single egg. Therefore it can not be past tense since it pertains to the egg itself. To clarify this distinction, I will take out the “and”. Maybe this will make the connection more clear.
The verb “based on” gives a very general action to what the scientists are using the papers for. The verb “using” makes the correlation direct between the papers and what the scientists have made in their research.
Corrected! Thanks for your input.
Sure, if it makes the question clarity better I will change it.
You are correct. The past tense here does show that the correct answer should also be in past tense. Lay itself has been marked as correct by mistake, as “lay” signals present tense, maybe even future. Also the choice of “was laid open” means the same thing as laid open. Thanks for the clarification numerovirgo!
No worries pckcnk,
Vindicate is the most correct answer since it literally means to clear someone of blame or suspicion.
Thanks for your input, it seems I was trying to include more information into the question than necessary. However Globalization on its own does not require of it a connection to attempts necessarily. It is true that the attempts stem from Globalization itself however the use of “and” is not incorrect.
Globalization, free and fair trade even without the “s” involved to show that they are plural still require the subject-verb agreement of “have” as the answer states.
This is a difficult question. “Due to” means caused by, ascribable to or because of or owning to. “Because of” means on account of or since. This is important when discerning the most correct answer. The definition of because meaning since relates to the negative construction that follows.
The reason this is the best answer because if the answer “due to” was chosen, it would have been repeated by “led to” later on in the sentence. Using “because of” adds more diversity to the sentence making it the most correct answer choice.
Yes you are correct. “Credited” can be used as a substitute. This is also a great way to understand the usage of such words by replacing them with ones that you know. Great job numerovirgo!
Dexterity: It is a noun meaning the skill in performing tasks, especially with your hands.
Example: her dexterity with wielding a paintbrush.
Therefore, this answer is correct since the dexterity of something pertains to one’s hands for the most part. It is not so much “in” but rather a characteristic of their hands.
I think that English can be funny as well. Plus, what can be more interesting than extending your vocabulary? You’re able to take what you learn to prepare for the English section and apply it to everyday situations. Such as conversations with others, or posts just like these.
Funny?????
Your English teacher wasn’t Miss. Neeru Ahuja. Thats why…....
and i agree with Vishnu. Once you know a concept you can do all the related problems. But that doesn’t apply to English. So my vote is for maths.
I watched Phelps swim his last race, the one that earned him his final gold, 8 out of 8 giving him yet another world record, 7 of those out of his eight swims. I was amazed at his technique. As soon as he jumped into the water, he instantaneously picked up the lead in seconds. The man swims like a fish, it was thrilling to watch, and he’s only 23!
I agree Oren. I think that the more medals in total you have as a country shows how diverse your athletes are. It’s great to see an Olympian win a bronze and by watching them and how excited she/he is, you would think that they had just won gold. I think that’s a true sign of a great athlete, that they’re going for their personal best, and yes, if that turns out to be a gold, great. But if it doesn’t, it’s still just as good.
Although some of these careers may seem like they do not originate from MBA focuses, the idea here is that an MBA lets you take the role of management within these fields. So, for example if you are interested in an engineering degree, and want to advance this, you may want to take on an MBA to increase your chances of having the responsibility of an executive role, assuming more leadership.
Also, if these jobs do not fit what you’re interested in, not to worry! This is on a comprehensive list and there are many options to explore. Plus, if the options available aren’t enough, there is also the ability to take your MBA and create entrepreneurial opportunity for yourself and start your own personal venture!
Hi Devika,
Yes, the vocabulary concepts that are part of the question bank are meant to challenge and extend your current vocabulary. I’m glad you were able to discern the correct answer!
For more clarification, here are the definitions of the word options:
In the case of this situation, the word “absolved” works the best in this context.
This is excellent material!
