These are some great tips, some of them apply to my country too!
You are right. Education in China and India doesnt mean Kids become smarter. It’s just that some of the better people emigrate to other countries to compete for jobs(like cab-driver!) with other natives which makes them think Indians/Chineese are smarter. In fact, the State Education Boards (not the National Ones) from which I am going to complete High School are miles behind an ideal education system. Most people in India who graduate are useless material and millions dont even get to graduate. There are only some people who shine out which is a small percentage for India/China but a huge number for other countries.
Oh, its only an excuse for a holiday!
People do not usually look interesting while they write exams.
thats correct
I have met a lot of such IITians. One of my friends told me that some students took to drinking to escape the pressure and the burnout of the JEE phase! [although thats a bit radical, i must say]
I like boxing, sculling and fencing the most and i dislike watching Athletics
actually there is such a function [although well outside the scope of JEE] If you want I can get the details. I read about this in a forum and thought of sharing it with you.
wow.. what has this world come to?
Since its a textbook, the content of the speech was more focussed on. When I opened my English Textbook this year [which I have done only once] I was surprised to find this speech included !
have done it already…. check out the blog post at www.iit-dreams.blogspot.com
Thats karma… whatever you give comes back to you at the end…. they buy a dog to escape work and end up getting more work !! :) I know some people here are hard working, but they end up being US Citizens at last which is very disappointing. And it is easy to make it big in India is you dont study. You can be a politician or a Bollywood actor. :)
I think Indians are inherently lazy people and like others to do their jobs, . So they find it better to train a Dog who can fetch them newspapers and other things rather than get a cat. Personally, I like Dogs more than cats for he same reason.
Hahaha… but cats are so much less work! You don’t have to take your cats for walks. I think cats are a more lazy-man’s pet.
By the way, most of the Indian people I know are tremendously hard working. There’s no way to make it in India without studying hard. I think its easier to make it in Canada. Any Indian ready to apply to university should check out the Canadian University Finder and see what they can get into.
and believe me dude! there is nothing like area vice segmentation of hard working or non-hardworking people. and let me tell you a fact that india is second in official terms on the basis of working hours per day per person in the whole world. and factually it’s the number one..
so better think twice before actually passing a comment

I think a lot of students resort to alcohol and other destructive things to blow the pressure off. I don’t believe it’s the best solution when reacting to exams, deadlines and the like.
