  1. From the discussion Irony of the Authority System

    Wed, 28 Jan 2009 05:46:56 -0000

    Dear Rahul2learn,

First of all I would like to thank you for raising your concerns and providing your suggestions. We are always looking forward to receiving the same to further improve LearnHub.

I am one of the representative of LearnHub team and my response to queries and concerns raised by you follows:

    1) Many of the top authority users like olhav, sureshbala, lucyinthesky, maymay are part of LearnHub team but top ranked authority rkmittal is a general user. We are already working on to distinguish LearnHub team member from other users

    2) Thanks for pointing out the limitation of our authority system. LearnHub product was launched in March’08 and we are still working towards improving it based our learning and feedback of users. Please be assured that the necessary actions would be taken to improve it

    3) The terms and conditions clearly mentions that users must not post any copyright content and all users of LearnHub have agreed to it. It also mentions that LearnHub may or may not be able to moderate all the content on LearnHub. But we are committed to take required actions for all the copyright complaints.

I would like to again assure you that concerns of all our users are important to us and we have already initiated the process at our end to address it.

    Thanks!

  2. From the discussion What new communities can be built?

A community on “excuses”, aka the dog ate my homework.

Another great idea for a community is “Occupations” or “Jobs”. You could list different types of job descriptions that people would never dream of in a million years, but actually exist. You could also list the pros and cons of different types of occupations.
Other communities could include yoga, fitness, cycling, even marathon running. Preparing for a marathon is really tough – I wish that would something I could do. Martial arts could be good as well – judo, karate, tae kwan do – you could describe the different techniques and stuff.

Nice! I would be really interested in seeing a yoga community. I would love to do more yoga, and try out different types (I hear there’s one where they crank up the heat and you sweat as if in a sauna! There are even some men-only yoga classes too.)

I think you should create any community you’re passionate about – that way you will have a lot of speak on the matter. This could be anything from pets to gardening, to flowers to different types of cheeses. Personally, I love cookies. I would love a cookie community.

    Those bodybuilding images are hilarious…

Here are some more possible ideas:
    1. Comic books
    2. Planes
    3. Do-it-yourself carpentry and handiwork (for fixing stuff around the house and whatnot)
    4. Gardening
    5. Snowboarding or skiing

A community on IPR would be a great value add.

I think we can also have some fun communities – like one on poor jokes :)

    “Life is empty and meaningless.”

We are all free to fill it and add meaning ..

    Cheers!

  6. From the discussion Reasons to study in or visit Canada

    - After six months, students are eligible to work off-campus. Universities/colleges assist students to look for employment options

    - Work permit for international students on completion of postgraduation; permission to work for two years in Canada, with the exception of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, where permission is granted only for a year

    - Most institutions offer co-op programmes where students get a chance to work for a term with the industry and gain work experience while they study. The faculty helps students in getting placed
