Congratulations on the great score! I’m sure it’ll help you get into some great institutions.

I hope this’ll show other people that even if you don’t do perfectly well the first time, don’t get discouraged and try again.

  2. From the discussion Math or English- which is the harder part?

    Mon, 29 Sep 2008 16:38:13 -0000

I think english is the worse part. There are like millions of words to learn and I can`t understand the questions on the critical reading – I think it`s one and it turns out to be the other. Math isn`t hard and requires thinking not some logic that no one seems to have. I think if they remove the critical reading the test will be quite easy.

  3. From the discussion Nervous about the SAT...

    Sun, 03 Aug 2008 21:41:37 -0000

hi guys I am having my SAT on the 4th of October and I feel very very nervous about it. I keep thinking I won`t be calm and won`t do as well as I do on practice tests. I also think the real test will be much harder than the practice tests so the scores I have received on practice tests will not be accurate. I am practicing and improving my vocabulary every day but my scores on the reading secton are still lower than I want them to be. I t is not fair that colleges don`t use the writing sections, I have my best results there. Why put it if no one is going to use it. Anyway what do you think I should do? Any advises?

Here’s a lesson describing the SAT Dates and Registration Deadlines for the 08-09 year. You might also be interested in reading about the actual SAT registration process in another lesson as well. :)

The most important requirement for McGill international admissions is completion of the credentials necessary for university admissions. A high school diploma (Diploma za Zavursheno Sredno Obrazovanie?) is a requirement.

However, you can contact McGill and ask them specifically, if you’re guaranteed a diploma at the end of June and already have the important marks, it may be ok, who knows.

Depending on the School it often changes. Scholarships are highly competitive but reachable by most students.

Read out Scholarships lesson, hopefully that can direct you to the right place.

hi guys I`m afraid it`s me again and I have few more questions.I saw the page of McGill university in Canada but there are some things I don`t understand. It says that SAT subject tests are required for non canadian students. If so how many do they require? Is it possible they to give me a scholarship which covers most of my needs because my parents can`t pay for my education?

    thanks

That’s interesting… I didn’t think schools in Canada asked for SAT scores! I wonder if I am mistaken or if McGill is unique that way.

I don’t know about how many SAT subject tests they require. Hopefully someone else here does.

  11. From the discussion SATs difference between Canada and the US?

    Thu, 12 Jun 2008 11:49:05 -0000

he lechuck i think i can help you with the TOEFL. i had my TOEFL exan three weeks ago.compared to the SAT test i have done at home it is considerably easier. the reading section isn`t that hard, definetely easier than the SAT. the listening is clean and with no hard questions and there are 30 minutes for you to write an essay. what i had most dificulty in was the speaking since you have between 15 and 20 seconds to prepare your answer and 45 to 60 seconds to speak so the time issue is little pressing. everything else is not that big of a deal and a lot easier than the SAT. hyope the info is useful

      Hey cappy_bg,

According to Heather’s lesson on TOEFL Basics , the iBT TOEFL mark will be a range from 0 -120. So 113 is a fantastic mark to achieve. Congratulations! In this case, I don’t think you’d need to redo the test if in fact the highest score possible is 120, you’re not far away at all from the very top mark.

Hey cappy_bg. There are tons of options to study microbiology and genetics both in Canada and the United States. I would suggest checking out Acadia University. They have a microbiology program there that is really thriving. You can even find the program that’s right for you at Acadia right there on their school page . Let me know if there’s anything else you, or anyone in that matter is looking for and we’ll try to get you all the information you need!
