    Hi,

May I return your quote with good intention indeed, that is to know life it is necessary to know it in its totality. So too, to grasp the answer which you are seeking relative to my statement it is necessary to go through all the lessons I have created under the heading “Learning without Language” here at LearnHub.

The question you have asked turns into a quest to become aware of the depth of our existence and being. From “doing mode” to “being mode” one has to move inwardly. Then it becomes clear…

    Do not stop here….

    Best,

    Dr.Ramakrishnan

Dear Dr, I will go through all your lesson and I beleive I will stumble on my own interpretations about the question I asked. However I was looking for your interpretaion. I feel its a nice way to learn when we share our interpretations of life and livingness. It expands our horizon. I am still interested to know if there is more you would like to add or may be we can go deeper into that single line.

  13. From the discussion "I think therefore I..."

    Sat, 10 May 2008 04:52:36 -0000

First a break up of the ideas expressed: i) a state of higher consciousness ii) tried meditation iii) chaos iy) state of “not thinking” v) believe vi) skeptic vii) to focus on a certain thing

Among all the vii ideas expressed in your post, vi ideas denote functions. There are ‘n’ number of such functions many of which we are not normally aware.

Living moment to moment consists of two modes, namely the being mode and the doing mode. All functions are in the doing-mode-experience.

Take the experience of deep dreamless sleep. No one can express that I am sleeping in any manner because the doing mode is switched off. Not even “I am breathing” is then experienced. Although this is an unbroken state of BEING-MODE, the instrument of expression is arrested and folded like an umbrella. All preparations to sleep do not amount to sleep. Similarly all efforts to meditate do not amount to the state of higher consciousness. As even sleep happens, meditation happens.

Pure Consciousness is the platform where all functions go on like waves. But the screen is always immaculate. The sense of “I” relative to “this” is relatively permanent as it persists in all functions. In sleep neither “I” nor “this” stand illumined. There is only LIGHT and yet not revealed totally. In the higher state of BEING MODE, which continues in spite of functions( not mere absence of them), the LIGHT keeps shining and is self-certified. Sun doesn’t need a candle to make its presence felt.

    :-)

  14. From the lesson Who called me by Name?

    Sat, 10 May 2008 00:00:16 -0000

Oh ! Just as the fertile argument is harvested by the seed thought , the yield , that is the child in the context , goes by the name of the seed.

Well observed , Amarjeet. Now , take a second look at the statement : “Father is the authority and mother is the validity.” How interesting would be to find the truth of the second part : mother is the validity! It means that authority and validity are two sides of the same coin . That is , the truth of the child.

Amarjeet , you may take lesson by lesson for one round of brief comments as it will help me create the next lesson with the cumulative impact of responses.

A comment on a lesson like this indicates i) the attitude ii) the aptitude ,which in other words are sensibility and sensitivity, of the head and heart.

Amarjeet, thank you for the response. Each aspect of the simple looking statement given by you speaks volumes about your mind-scape.

There are many ways of approaching this lesson and your response is one pointer among the many.

    Think of the following idea.

Father is the authority and mother is the validity for the value and meaning of my name.

in the otherside even if a seed(father as per u mentioned) of a grain is been yeild in a very fertile field ,still then the name is grain, field dont have any space here to give a name to the yield.

Sharing at a deeper level what it means to me, the impact , rather the growing impact on me, would be certainly more engaging and equally demanding endeavour.

“Then and there”, I feel, is “Now and here” because all quotable quotes are and continue to be as fresh as the morning dew!

It would be going autobiographical a bit and that would be a “challenge” to open up.

Thank you, Peter for the probe…
