From the discussion Moodle

I guess this begs the question is Moodle is on the Market. As a piece if open-source software it transcends normal definitions of markets. It is being used non-competitively without the profit motive – so no economist would say we were talking about a market. (enough of my early background before moving into Blended Learning).
Still my experience of Moodle is that it is fit for purpose as a course management tool, I just feel that we are moving beyond CMS and into the Personal Learning Environment era, as such I wonder is moodle or any similar product is going to be fit for purpose in a world which has a learner created not a systems created model of learning?
Cheers,
Haydn

Hello Haydn,
Thank you for the comment about the market. I agree with you. However, Brits and Canadians may have different expressions. :) Yes, Moodle is a free source, but I know some Moodle partners and professional instructors who are making a nice income from Moodle. I am concerned my current work with Moodle and the wiki. I am finding wikis such as wetpaint very user friendly and wonder whether Moodle is on its way out.
