I usually only validate my html, honestly. I just use the standard W3C Validator. It does CSS too, so I should probably use it!

In order to do a matrix properly, it may take a bit more work as it’s pretty complicated. You have have to combine Tables and Equations… you can learn how to do tables in the Textile Lesson.

Falstaff is always full of puns, which is one of the things I like about him, and this is one of his best! Maybe I am just odd, haha. I also enjoy it because its one of the tougher puns to notice if you’re not a fan of Shakespeare and the language.

I don’t want to start a debate here, but I don’t get it. Whats the attraction of “Orange and Yellow”. When I look at it, I think of Orange flavored jell-o. I don’t want to be mean, or a jerk, I just never got “abstract” art.

Fair enough! I can understand your perspective on abstract art, everyone has their personal preferences. I don’t necessarily like abstract art either, but I think that this painting in particular holds a certain sentiment for me just because of its presence in our culture and the concepts associated with it. When you see this painting you might see orange-flavoured jello (haha), when I see it I think of New York and both the simplicity and complexity of such a large city. Sounds crazy, I know! I don’t even know why I think that.

I don’t think the point of Guitar Hero and related musical games is to teach people to play a real instrument. There is a big difference between 5 fret buttons and a board full of 20 frets and strings.
I agree with Lucy in the fact it’s meant to entertain and it does that, really well. It also allows the currently generation to enjoy bands like Hendrix, Bowie, Alice Cooper, and the rest of the great classics, like you said Avinash.
What it also does is gives the rock n’ roll spirit to anyone who plays it and in turn they start having the bug to play an instrument. I know a lot of people who started playing the Guitar, Drums, or even the Violin after rocking out in Guitar Hero for hours straight. Though, they do get frustrated pretty easy… you can learn Guitar Hero in a matter of hours, not so much a real instrument. Haha.

There isn’t any way to add a background image to the entire lesson, sorry. You may want to create a table and put an image in the background, you may be able to work something out that way.

It’s too bad Wes. I think those 1/4 users are uneducated and don’t know there are more powerful, more stable web browsers out there – for free. They use whatever web browser comes with their operating system, and Windows XPs IE6 is standard. Most people wont upgrade to Vista which carries IE7, not that it’s any better. You know what the sad thing is, Windows will never make Chrome or Firefox the operating systems default browser. We have to rely on people becoming more web savy and realize that IE is crap.
On the other hand, now that Google, which most people use to search, is promoting Chrome. It might really take flight since it will be right in front of their faces every time they go to search for something. Cross your fingers, haha.

Oh, I couldn’t disagree more. Shakespeare is an immortal cultural reading experience. Any of his plays, comedy or tragedy, they are so well told that if the students today can learn to understand his style of writing, would find the story as engaging as any story they watch on TV or read.
The young students are to use to the R&B and rap-crap they listen to on their iPods, a cultural experience like reading Shakespeare is probably painful for them. It’ll do them good in the long run.

Very true. I would have to disagree as well – not only the fact that I made this community :P but also because English is often disregarded for not being objective enough. Just like math, you understand the basic concepts of arithmetic and apply them in order to solve difficult problems. Shakespeare is like that complex problem, because once you learn the basic concepts of the English language, you can apply them to difficult pieces of literature. When you master the English language can you have the capacity to understand and analyze works such as Shakespeare. You can appreciate the intention of his words and the manner in which he says them…
