About Me
I am a Mexican Psychologist keen on learning to use Web 2.0 tools to spread knowledge. I got a Master Degree in Organizational Psychology by the University of Manchester in England. I have worked in the Human Resources area, without leaving my Clinical Practice, and given English classes at Institutions as well as a free lance.
I have been counseling, coaching, training and teaching people for over 26 years, the broad fields are Education and Self Development but I regard myself more as a facilitator rather than as a teacher. I have done Community Service as personal Apostolate since I was a teenager.
Now I have my private practice, work on my own and started my first online project to facilitate Computer Literacy. I am not savvy, the course is free of charge, bilingual (English/Spanish) and everyone is learning something at BaeL (Becoming an e-Learner) site at their own pace. Let me tell you that I am having fun and learning a lot!
I came across web tools to teach English as part of an English Teaching Diploma course and fell in love with them, while building the required Portfolio I began to see the wonderful possibilities that the Web offers to Education.
My main interests are to learn more about Web 2.0 tools, to see how to use them, how to implement them wisely and to share my findings with others.
I am concerned about the low computer literacy that I observe in my country and I am actively doing the best I can to open free learning opportunities for my community, my targeted groups are kids and teenagers. I am finding resistance to use the PC to learn and I would like to meet experienced online teachers who may help me to find ways to overcome such resistance.
