It is true that the indian offshoring and outsourcing industry stands at risk – while the US fights it out in the political ring. However, historically, economics will take precendent over politics and that is so the case with outsourcing sector too. It exists and thrives not because the politicians gain from it but because the it makes the industry and economy competitive. Once the President of US is sworn in – whether it is Hillary, Obama or Mcain – there will be other priorities – employment, growth rates, war in iraq, recession, insurance, healthcare etc – outsourcing may get reviewed or have newer policies to deal with – but the final call is determined by demand-supply cycles of businesses. Afterall, even Obama’s campiagn funds have to be generated from an engine of economic growth!
