Sup Poojan! well, if u had scored 96th %ile then i think the only thing u have to do now is t brush up with ur fundamentals.. and try solving questions from all the resources, learnhub being the biggest bank..

Also, u should have started preparing for Verbal section earlier, cuz now, no matter how many words can u mug up, it requires practice to crack vocab as well as RC based questions.. try solving maximum RC passages, which is the only way u can improve ur reading comp skills… u can download them from the internet.. Baki sab Changa hai…

Like u, I m gonna appear for CAT 09, but for the first time this year..

    Best of luck..

A box contains 6 white balls and 3 black balls, and another box contains 4 white balls and 5 black balls. Find the probability that a ball randomly selected from one of the boxes, which is again selected at random is a white ball?

    Thu, 24 Sep 2009 19:16:08 -0000

well, the way this question poster has solved is:

    totaL white balls / total no of balls i.e. 10/18 = 5/9..

but this is not the way to solve this question.. cuz the porbability that we will choose a box is itself 1/2 so we multiply 1/2 to probability of getting a white ball with each of boxes and add both of them.. but you wont find the correct option here.. so I marked the “other correct” anwer… ;-)

The probability that only one will hit the target:

      (2/5) * (1/3) * (2/5) + (3/5) * (2/3) * (2/5) + (3/5) * (1/3) * (3/5)

      = (4/75) * (12/75) * (9/75)

      = 25/75

      = 1/3

  11. From the unknown A polygon has 44 diagonals.Number of sides=?

    Sat, 19 Sep 2009 11:50:50 -0000

jsut try with the options even of u don’t have the formula..

for 11sides’ polygon will have 11 points and if u choose any two points, it will form a diagonal (except those 11 sides)

    hence 11C2 – 11 gives u 44 rite??
