  1. From the question perfect number

    Thu, 03 Sep 2009 20:57:46 -0000

A perfect number is a positive integer which is the sum of its proper positive divisors, that is, the sum of the positive divisors excluding the number itself. Equivalently, a perfect number is a number that is half the sum of all of its positive divisors (including itself).

For example, 6 is a perfect number:

6 can be divided by 1,2,3,6
    1 + 2 + 3 = 6

It’s pretty damn cool, but I don’t often find my self writing json very often, unlike HTML. Most of the time it’s auto-generated for me (ex: @foo.to_json)

Still, it looks like a good thing for those that do.

My stupid little blog is still running on lighttpd + FastCGI. It’s on shared hosting and I haven’t been bothered to switch it to something more modern.

  19. From the discussion Redirect links, why?

    Thu, 23 Apr 2009 19:28:19 -0000

The visual aspect is the part you seemed to have a problem with (when pasting into emails) and that issue is easily solved. I’m not sure why you feel your articles should be completely exempt from our security measures. Feel free to suggest sites that should be added to our white list. I’m happy to review any URLs that our users feel are respectable and appropriate.

  20. From the discussion Redirect links, why?

    Mon, 20 Apr 2009 15:35:11 -0000

Basically we have a disclaimer for any site we haven’t whitelisted. It provides a huge deterrent to spammers who cannot use Learnhub as a vehicle for SEO optimization, and it helps protect our users. Other sites do this, including Facebook.

Zoho looks like a good candidate for the whitelist. The other sites in the article I’m not so sure about.

The problem with your document is that you posted the links in the format: “Site name – Link”, rather than just linking the ‘Site Name’ itself. Alternatively, omit the ‘http’ part of the link and the url escaping won’t take effect.

      Thank for your answer

Your whitelist its very small I’m afraid. Those links are for webservices that allow users to create online surveys!

I don’t think this is a good solution for anti-spammers, as all legits users gets problems. Can be a minor problem for community sites, but not for elearning sites with web2.0 sites as services.

      - As for not using the format: “Site name – Link”, but just linking the ‘Site Name’ itself.

Done that with same result. I don’t want to use the link on the site name because than URLs got lost when someone copy/past into emails in text mode or it gets printed. And my course materials are for people that used to print them.

Note: Removing the http:// part does work indeed but only for the visual aspect (the learnhub redirect links its now hidden)

That gives problems also on subdomains and several blogs

Too bad for me! This site could be useful, back to my wetpaint wiki !
