  1. From the discussion Which engineering branch is coolest?

    Sat, 21 Feb 2009 09:25:45 -0000

Civil is the oldest branch of engineering. I don’t think that IT & computers are the coolest…..bcoz these are the two branches rather two fields which have severely suffered due to the global recession. On the other hand, the core branches like civil, mechanical, electrical have a very good chance to become cooler in these days of recession!

Not only software field but also most of the other branch graduates are suffering due to this economic recession. So, I don’t think that only software field is prone to this. Also, software field is the only field that expedites all the on going research in other branches. I can’t imagine a research laboratory with out a computer these days.

  3. From the discussion Is "Slumdog Millionaire" popular in India?

By no means this movie is aimed at showing the chronic poverty of India. Many reviewers have criticized this movie for showing the only dirty reality of India instead of displaying all those swanky buildings, glittering malls. I think out of 10 Oscar nominations it would bag atleast 3 i.e. in cinematography, editing and for the song “JAI HO”!! It’s a perfect edge of seat thriller wrapped in ghostly realities of slums. I highly recommend it.

In Indian general societies, drinking wine is supposed to be an addiction. According to our culture, we are told not to drink wine by our parents/elders. Same thing is taught to us in our schools also.

Does really red wine help that much? I don’t think so. Conversely, I read that drinking too much of wine affects the liver. Drinking wine is considered as addiction, in India.
